Terms of Service

Product and License

Effective date: March 26, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern the purchase and use of WP Cache Autopilot, a WordPress cache lifecycle product by Beat Schenkel, Switzerland.

WP Cache Autopilot includes Cache Invalidator, which determines what cache should be purged, and Cache Warmup, which rebuilds cache after invalidation.

Your purchase grants a license to use the product under these Terms. The product is licensed, not sold, and no ownership rights are transferred to you. To the extent any part of the software is distributed under the GPL or another open-source license, that code remains governed by its original open-source license. Your commercial subscription governs access to updates, support, license activation, and related license services.

  • Single license: use on 1 production site.
  • Freelancer license: use on up to 5 production sites.
  • Agency license: use on unlimited production sites owned or managed by the license holder.
  • Staging, development, and local environments are allowed when they are tied to a properly licensed production site and are not used as separate client deployments.

License Restrictions

You may not redistribute, sublicense, resell, lease, share, publish, or make the product available to third parties except as permitted by the applicable license plan and applicable open-source license terms. License keys may not be shared across unrelated customers, organizations, or projects beyond the purchased site limit. You may not remove licensing notices, bypass activation controls, attempt to bypass licensing, abuse update servers, automate license scraping, or use the product in a way that violates law or infringes the rights of others.

Subscription and Renewals

Licenses are sold on an annual subscription basis. An active subscription is required for software updates, new releases, and priority support. If your subscription expires, the plugin may continue to function on sites where it is already installed, but you will lose access to new versions, priority support, and other active-subscription benefits.

Subscriptions may renew automatically through Freemius unless canceled before the renewal date under the checkout or account terms presented at the time of purchase. Renewal pricing, billing timing, and renewal management are handled through Freemius as merchant of record.

Support

Priority support is available during an active subscription period and covers installation help, license issues, bug clarification, and reasonable product-related troubleshooting.

Support is provided for the product itself, not for general WordPress administration, server management, custom development, or third-party code outside the product’s scope.

After subscription expiry, support is no longer included.

Refunds

  • Refund requests must be submitted through the applicable Freemius purchase flow, customer account, or support channel.
  • If a specific refund period or refund condition is shown at checkout, in your order confirmation, or in Freemius purchase terms, that policy applies to the order.

Merchant of Record

  • Payments, VAT handling, invoicing, license delivery, subscription processing, and refund handling are managed by Freemius as merchant of record.

Acceptable Use

  • Use of the product must remain lawful, technically responsible, and consistent with these Terms.

You may not use the product to interfere with licensing systems, distribute malware, overload infrastructure, or misrepresent the source or ownership of the software.

Termination

These Terms may be terminated if you materially breach them. On termination, your rights to updates, support, and license activation may be suspended or ended. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination, including liability limits and warranty disclaimers, survive termination.

Third-Party Dependencies

The product depends on third-party systems and software, including WordPress, your hosting environment, your cache plugin or cache stack, and Freemius. Cache purge and cache warmup behavior are best effort and may vary depending on server rules, page caching layers, object caching, CDN configuration, security tools, background processing, and other third-party conditions outside our control.

Performance Disclaimer

We specifically do not guarantee performance improvements, cache behavior consistency, SEO impact, or uptime gains. Technical results depend heavily on site architecture and third-party components.

Compatibility Disclaimer

We specifically do not guarantee hosting compatibility, compatibility with every WordPress version, compatibility with every theme or plugin, or compatibility with every cache plugin, CDN, reverse proxy, or server setup. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups, testing changes before deployment, and deciding whether and how the product is deployed in your environment.

Warranty Disclaimer

The product is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, security hardening for every environment, or that the product will meet every project requirement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the product, the subscription, support, or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the applicable purchase giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of data, loss of cache state, SEO fluctuations, security incidents caused by third parties, or downtime caused by hosting or plugin conflicts.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, excluding conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts at the place of business of Beat Schenkel in Switzerland have jurisdiction to the extent permitted by law.
